Drifter Sister
Small Group Tour of Spain

Tours to AfricaThis is a thrilling two-week safari to Kenya during the annual migration. Plus, your photos will be amazing because renowned photographer and teacher, Jeff Sink, will be along to help you get stunning photos.

We are also offering a 10-day pre-trip that begins in Victoria Falls, and then heads to Botswana for game drives in the Okavango Delta.

The 8-day Namibia post-trip treats you to the unique experience of the Sossusvlei desert featuring the famous red, and tallest, sand dunes in the world.

Croatia & Montenegro

Tours to Croatia-MontenegroThis small group tour combines one of the latest ‘must see’ destinations, Croatia, with a wonderful little country under most folks’ radar, Montenegro – a hidden gem if there ever was one.

We begin our adventure in Dubrovnik, Croatia, as we board our mega-yacht, M/S Splendid, and begin our exciting 7-Day Island Hopping Cruise through Croatia’s Dalmatia Coast

Week two is on land, exploring the wonders and mysteries of lovely Montenegro. Transported by deluxe motor coach, we begin our journey by climbing the scenic old mountain road to “Old Montenegro,” and each day a new adventure awaits.

Tour Cuba

If you have been wanting to see Cuba, now is the time to do it, before it becomes spoiled by a rush of American tourists.

Come with me… experience the quirky, sometimes unpredictable and chaotic, yet enterprising life of the Cuban people. Witness their spirit and ingenuity. Marvel at what they can do amidst the crumbling infrastructure. Travel the nearly deserted highways through the gorgeous countryside, with cowboys on horseback, and horse-drawn carts interspersed among the classic cars, trucks and buses.

This is a Catch the Wind tour you won’t want to miss, especially now, before Cuba changes, and before the onrushing crowds ruin it.

San Giuseppe, ItalyDuring the two weeks of our small group tour of France, we will discover the beautiful Minervois villages and the fascinating Languedoc region of South France.

This tour is a balance of relaxation and discovery. The region is rich in history (primarily Roman Colonization, and the Cathar movement, which provoked the Albigensian Crusade) and wine production.

Greece & Turkey
Acropolis, Athens, Greece

Can you imagine two weeks immersed in two of the most exotic and archeologically rich civilizations of the world? You can experience it all on our small group tour of Greece and Turkey.

Our tour of Greece will combine conventional cruising with private yachting aboard the 25-cabin Harmony V mega yacht. We will visit the famous islands of Mykonos and Santorini along with many of the smaller, beautiful islands.

An optional small group land tour of the Pelloponnese is available for touring classical sites like Olympia, Delphi and Meteora.

Our small group tour of Turkey includes the enchanting city of Istanbul, a cruise on the Bosphorus strait, and a visit to the Cappadocia region.

Istanbul is a unique city combining Eastern and Western cultures. It is set in an amazingly beautiful location that everyone should visit at least once.

Cappadocia is a stunning area of other-worldly rock formations, subterranean churches and underground dwellings.

San Giuseppe, ItalyFor two weeks our small group tour of Ireland will explore the Emerald Isle, escorted in our luxurious and spacious motor coach.

We will discover the myriad beautiful, charming and mysterious sights, sounds, and tastes of the Emerald Isle, making a wide circle, primarily around the coast. ‘Must See’ locations, such as Cliffs of Moher, Kilkenny Castle, Ring of Kerry, Killarney, the ‘Quiet Man’ country of Connemara, and more will be interspersed with lesser known local gems, such as Cobh, Doolin, the Aran Island of Inish Mor, and New Grange.

Luxurious Spa

Luxurious SpaOur small group tour of a week of pampering at Ixtapan de la Sal, Mexico is an experience you don't want to miss.

This family-owned and operated Spa has been in operation since the mid 19th century and is the most relaxing and beautiful place one can imagine. And it’s a great bargain!

San Giuseppe, ItalyStaying in a villa on a small group tour of Tuscany is one of the least expensive, and perhaps most rewarding, travel experiences one can enjoy.

We stay one week each in two villas, which are strategically chosen for convenient day trips throughout central Tuscany. First is Borgo Corsignano, a renovated medieval village in the lovely Casentino Valley. Our second villa is San Giuseppe, near Sienna, a big, old restored farmhouse with six bedrooms (all with ensuite bathrooms).

In the tradition of Drifter Sister's Catch the Wind tours to Tuscany and France, this small group tour of Spain is an in-depth exploration of a most treasured region of Spain – ANDALUCIA. Rich in Spanish traditions influenced by the ancient Moors, sunshine, olive groves, white pueblo villages, tapas, Sangria... Our small group tour of Andalucia includes all this and more, and we will have two weeks to enjoy it to the fullest!

After a three-night stay in Granada's famous Albayzín (or Albaicín) Moorish district, including a morning tour of its famous Alhambra, we will pick up rental cars and drive northwest to Zuheros (near Cordoba), then southwest to Ronda (famous center of Pueblos Blancos), ending up near the west coast in Arcos de la Frontera, the most westerly of the Pueblos Blanco. Staying three nights in three of these locations and five in the other will allow ample time for in-depth exploration of the countryside, towns, and attractions of the region, as varied as the seaside location of Cadiz to the mountain-top village of Grazalema, the crown-jewel and highest of the famous white pueblos (Pueblos Blanco).

Highlights will include seven guided tours: Alhambra – one of the candidates for the New Seven Wonders of the World; Cordoba – including the famous Mosque; Ronda – including the oldest bull ring in Spain; Cadiz city walking tour; Seville historic section; a visit and show at the famous Andalucian Equestrian School in Jerez de la Frontera; and an authentic Flamenco Show at an intimate, locally owned establishment. Two meals are included daily, as well as two large vans, driven by Drifter Sister and Bonnie, her trusty partner for this and the France tour.

Arcos de la Frontera, Andalucia SpainLodging will be in two Haciendas and three charming hotels, conveniently located within walking distance of historic city centers, shops and attractions.

The first time this small group tour was offered in 2011 it was a huge success, and the 12 slots filled quickly. The 2018 revival was even better, and it will be offered only twice more, in 2019 and 2020. So don't miss the adventure. You can’t get any closer to the ‘real’ Spain than this!

A post-trip extension to Barcelona will be offered.

Casa Del Capitel, Nazari, Granada - 3 Nights

(Renovated Ancient Renaissance Palace Built in 1503 )

Boutique Hotel in Albaicin (famous Jewish Quarter, near Alhambra)
Trip Advisor: 4 Stars (39 Excellent, 55 Very Good

“Beautiful old hotel, very clean rooms, lovely courtyard with complimentary tea and coffee. Great location in the old town near the Alhambra and also near fantastic bars and restaurants which overlook the Alhambra. Staff helpful.”

Hacienda Minerva, Zuheros – 3 Nights
Trip Advisor: 5 Stars (43 Excellent, 6 Very Good)

"We booked a 2 night stay at Hacienda Minerva... . It turned out to be a gem. If you want a feel of the good life in real Spain this is where to find it. The Cortijo converted into a hotel has features that a designer must yearn over, from the internal courtyards with splashes of colour from the plants and flowers, to the ancient olive mill... . The bedrooms are spacious, air conditioned with courtyard and olive grove views. The restaurant uses a terrace overlooking the olive groves... And the food is the stuff of dreams ... If you want to see some of the best scenery within Andalucia from a top class base don't hesitate!

Hotel Don Miguel – 3 Nights (Location, Location, Location) Trip Advisor: 4 Stars (30 Excellent, 39 Very Good)

“This is a great place to stay in Ronda, right on the famous bridge and gorge. Our bed room window had a spectacular view of the bridge and down into the gorge. Room was great, clean and neat. As you enter or exit the hotel you are right on the north end of the bridge and close to all attractions, squares and scenic walks around the cliff tops. Fabulous place to stay. Woken one morning with a hot air balloon sailing past our window.”

Arcos Gardens, Arcos de la Frontera (or equivalent) – 5 Nights
Trip Advisor: 4-1/2 Stars (9 Excellent, 2 Very Good)

“Beautiful accommodation in quiet surroundings. We stayed here for one night during our trip to Andalusia and enjoyed the comfort of a very nice, spacious and very comfortable room. We spent some hours at the poolside and had a lovely dinner in the restaurant next to the golf course... Arcos de la Frontera is only a few minutes away by car.”
